Why I got into tech:

An unlikely path

Most attorneys don’t get the opportunity to lead a tech product. From 2016 - 2018, I was selected by my former law firm to head a $5.2M proprietary internal case management system, called Pulse.

I’m not sure why I was selected. I had no experience with running tech products, but I said yes to the challenge and ended up running operations for the entire firm.

I single-handedly created the process maps that formed the backbone of the Pulse, and I worked with our developers closely to ensure that things were on track in terms of time, budget, and quality.

It took two years to go from idea to launch. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences while at that firm.

Having said this, the most rewarding part of my career involves leading teams. I care about the team and believe to my core that nobody wants to be an “employee;” rather, they want to be part of something.
